What You'll Learn About Kristy Grass

Kristy Grass Passionate About Counseling Women & Children

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, Kristy is invested in facilitating healthy relationships in families, children, and individuals.

Kristy grew up in Utah County in a family with nine children. In her own family and culture, she saw many struggling with feelings of shame, guilt, depression, and anxiety

She noticed that sometimes those feelings of depression and anxiety would get in the way of having healthy relationships; so she wants to do her part to help you.

While becoming a therapist, Kristy worked with elementary kids in a Strengthening Families Program at Utah Valley University. In this program, she taught kids about self-esteem, communication, goals, and problem-solving skills.

She saw the kids develop a sense of hope and how that small bit of hope spread through the entire family. This experience enhanced her motivation to become a Marriage and Family Therapist who works with children and families.

Feeling Stuck or Overwhelmed Kristy Can Help

You might be dealing with situations where you feel stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, and hopeless. Kristy knows what it’s like to battle against those feelings – Sometimes it feels like climbing Mount Everest without an oxygen tank!

No matter how big or small the struggles may be, labels and feelings do not define you. There is always hope

It is possible to create new meanings and new narratives without these struggles getting in the way.

Kristy believes in the words of the well-renowned research professor, Brene Brown, who states,

“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.”

Kristy Grass joined Utah Family Therapy, last year her talents and skills continue to unfold. She recently was trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

Kristy is one of our therapists heading up and running groups in our Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program for anxiety, and  Eating Disorders.
