What You'll Learn About Brad Tanner

Brad Tanner Brainspotting Trauma Therapist

Several years ago, Brad felt inspired that he was supposed to quit his profession and help individuals struggling in life.

Leaving behind financial stability and a life of comfort, Brad knew there was much more he had to do. In his quest, he knew he had to help you and contribute more to society.

Brad understands the challenges and difficulties of life as he juggles the responsibilities of a stay-at-home dad.

He has a unique perspective on the challenges facing families and how difficult it is to navigate the world as a teenager.

Your teen is facing unique challenges and here’s how he helps the teens and the problems that teens experience.

As one of our therapists that works with the youth, he is compassionate. Brad excels at creating a judgment-free environment, allowing your son or daughter to feel comfortable when openly talking about the difficulties they are facing.

Counseling Teens, Youth & Adults

One of Brad’s primary desires for changing careers is to help youth overcome challenges with pornographyanxietydepression, and feelings of inadequacy.

He loves helping families connect with love, understanding, and compassion. Brad also understands the challenges couples experience in their marriage and life with children that are experiencing difficulties. In his own words,

“I want to help couples connect with greater passion, care, and understanding of each other.”

Brainspotting for Trauma

As part of Brad’s training, he uses Brainspotting to treat trauma and support his clients.

Brainspotting is a therapy technique that uses eye positions to access the brain’s natural healing and locates, processes, and releases stored traumatic energy.

It combines elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-focused approaches, mindfulness, and EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing).

Brainspotting helps individuals identify and reflect on various memories, thoughts, and emotions associated with specific areas of the body, as well as assists in developing better communication skills to resolve interpersonal conflicts.

In short, Brainspotting helps individuals gain insight into the underlying causes of their physical or psychological pain or discomfort.

“It’s nice to have another choice of therapy for trauma besides EMDR, which is not for everyone. I like the focused attention on trauma that brainspotting helps clients process through and it doesn’t seem as intense as EMDR.”

Personal Life

Brad is a family man and can relate to the challenges that face families.

He loves fishing so he can connect with a lot of men and women using fishing analogies.

One of his greatest joys is being outsmarted by trout on his favorite river, eating sushi, and watching movies every chance he gets.

Brad is the director of Utah Family Therapy’s Intensive Outpatient Program, which helps individuals with anxiety learn to manage the challenges and struggles.

UTAH FAMILY THERAPY'S UNFILTERED MISSION STATEMENT

Lets face it, who likes to talk about their crap with other people?

If you’re like most clients, you’re used to being judged despite hearing so many people talk about non judgment and when you do open up, it seems like the more you share, the less likely you are to get compassion.

We’ve worked our butts off to create a clinic where the unfiltered, real you, can show up and heal, so dammit give therapy a chance

We love the unfiltered real you, let’s heal together. – Utah Family Therapy Team
