Insurance We Accept

In-Network Providers (Utah Family Therapy):

Out-of-Network:

We work with many other providers on an out-of-network basis. We can help you navigate what you’re covered for and, where possible, submit claims on your behalf.

Call us and we’ll figure it out together.

Does Insurance Cover the IOP?

Yes — most of our in-network plans cover the Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program at Utah Family Therapy.

IOP is typically covered at the same rate as other mental health services. Your deductible and copay still apply, but most students find their out-of-pocket cost is significantly lower than expected.

For addiction IOP through Level Up IOP, coverage depends on your plan. Call us or fill out the form to verify your insurance, and we’ll check both for you at once.

What If I Don't Have Insurance?

We don’t turn people away because of money. If you’re uninsured or underinsured, here’s what we can do:

  • Sliding-scale fees — based on what you can actually afford.
  • Private pay — straightforward pricing with no insurance complexity –
  • Ecclesiastical support — we work with bishops, stake presidents, and faith communities who want to support someone’s healing –
  • Financing options — we can help connect you with options if needed .

Call us. We’ll find a path. 801.901.0279

How to Verify Your Benefits

You don’t have to figure this out alone. Here’s what to do:

  1. Call us 801.901.0279 or fill out the insurance verification form  — tell us your insurance, and we’ll do a benefit check before your first appointment
  2. Have your insurance card ready — we’ll need your member ID and group number.
  3. Ask about your deductible — most plans reset on January 1st, so if you’ve met it, now is a great time to start.
  4. Ask specifically about IOP — IOP is billed differently than weekly therapy; make sure to ask if your plan covers it.

You can also call the member services number on the back of your card and ask: *”Do I have mental health benefits? What is my copay for outpatient therapy and for IOP?”*

Frequently Asked Questions About Insurance

Does insurance cover mental health therapy in Utah?

Yes. Under the Mental Health Parity Act, insurance companies are required to cover mental health services at the same level as physical health services. Most major plans — including BCBS, SelectHealth, Aetna, and EMI — cover individual therapy, couples therapy, and IOP.

Does insurance cover the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?

In most cases, yes. IOP is an evidence-based level of care that most insurance plans recognize and cover. We’ll verify your specific IOP benefits before your first session. Call 801.901.0279.

What if my insurance isn't on your list?

Call us. We accept many plans beyond what’s listed here, and we can often work with out-of-network benefits. We won’t know until we check; and that check is free.

Do you accept Medicaid for mental health therapy?

Yes. We accept Medicaid for therapy services. Medicaid coverage for IOP varies — call us and we’ll verify your specific plan.

Does Level Up IOP take insurance?

Yes. Level Up IOP accepts insurance for adult addiction IOP. Coverage depends on your specific plan. Call 801.901.0279 and we’ll check both Utah Family Therapy and Level Up IOP at once.

What is out-of-network coverage?

Out-of-network means we don’t have a contract with that insurance company, but your plan may still reimburse a portion of the cost. We’ll help you understand what you’d owe and whether submitting for reimbursement makes sense.

UTAH FAMILY THERAPY'S UNFILTERED MISSION STATEMENT

Lets face it, who likes to talk about their crap with other people?

If you’re like most clients, you’re used to being judged despite hearing so many people talk about non judgment and when you do open up, it seems like the more you share, the less likely you are to get compassion.

We’ve worked our butts off to create a clinic where the unfiltered, real you, can show up and heal, so dammit give therapy a chance

We love the unfiltered real you, let’s heal together. – Utah Family Therapy Team
