Audrey Estrada
CMHCI
Audrey Estrada is a Clinical Mental Health Intern pursuing her Master’s at Rocky Mountain University (RMU).
Her journey into the mental health field is deeply rooted in her personal experiences, academic training, and passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges.
Audrey, a Utah native, has enriched her life by living in Connecticut, Idaho, and Brazil.
These diverse experiences have given her a broad and nuanced understanding of different cultures, lifestyles, and perspectives, which she brings into her therapeutic practice.
Audrey was exposed to a close-knit community and strong family values growing up in Utah.
However, living in other states and abroad has significantly shaped her worldview.
Living in Connecticut introduced her to a historically rich lifestyle of the East Coast.
At the same time, her time in Idaho allowed her to appreciate the beauty of nature and a slower pace of life.
Her experience in Brazil, however, was transformative.
Immersed in a vastly different culture, Audrey learned to navigate language barriers, cultural differences, and the challenges of adapting to a new environment.
These experiences have made Audrey adept at understanding and addressing cross-cultural challenges in her therapy.
She recognizes that cultural background, societal norms, and personal beliefs play a significant role in shaping an individual’s mental health.
This awareness allows her to approach each client with empathy, curiosity, and a deep respect for their unique story.
Audrey Estrada’s therapeutic approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, which emphasizes the client’s autonomy and expertise in their own life.
She believes that every individual has the innate capacity for growth and healing, and her role as a therapist is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
In addition to person-centered therapy, Audrey understands and uses Internal Family Systems (IFS) as one of her many modalities.
This model views the mind as a collection of subpersonalities or “parts,” each with its own perspective and role.
This approach helps clients understand and harmonize their internal conflicts, fostering self-compassion and healing.
Audrey’s IFS-informed practice allows her to help clients uncover the root causes of their struggles and develop a deeper connection with themselves.
Audrey is passionate about supporting individuals through various mental health issues. Her areas of focus include:

Outside of her professional life, Audrey is an avid learner and adventurer.
She enjoys hiking with her dog, exploring new trails, and immersing herself in nature.
Traveling is another passion of hers, allowing her to experience new cultures, cuisines, and perspectives.
Audrey’s love for trying new things extends to her personal life, where she is always open to new hobbies, activities, and experiences.
A self-proclaimed book nerd, Audrey is constantly reading and loves discussing literature with others.
Audrey finds inspiration and insight in the written word, whether it’s a thought-provoking novel, a self-help book, or a memoir.
Audrey’s commitment to building and nurturing meaningful relationships is at the core of her life.
She values the time she spends with her friends and family, recognizing the importance of connection and support in her own life.
