What You'll Learn About Mitch Peo

A Therapist Who Genuinely Cares

Yeah, we know everyone says this, “A therapist that really cares.”
Well, Mitch says it’s true and we believe it. He brings something rare to the therapy room — a genuine, wholehearted love for every person he works with.
His path to becoming a therapist wasn’t accidental; it’s been a long-held calling, and that passion shows up in every session.

Mitch is intentional about creating a space that feels warm, safe, and judgment-free; a place where clients feel free to share their full story at their own pace.

A Goals-Focused Approach to Real Change

Mitch’s approach is goals-focused, meaning he’s not just here to listen; he’s here to help you see real, measurable growth in your life.
He works with individuals navigating pornography strugglesgrief, loss, and anger, and the full range of complex emotions that can feel impossible to carry alone.

Couples Work — Rekindling the Connection

Mitch has a deep passion for couples therapy — helping partners rediscover each other, gain a fresh perspective on who their person truly is, and reignite the connection that brought them together.
He loves helping couples see a new version of each other and find their way back to that romantic fire.

Faith, Identity & Existential Work

Mitch has a strong background working with individuals connected to the LDS faith, whether they’re fully committed members, navigating a faith crisis, or finding their way out of the church.
Identity exploration and existential questions are areas he finds deeply meaningful and approaches with both curiosity and care.

Clinical Approach & Modalities

Mitch draws from DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)IFS (Internal Family Systems), and EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) — weaving together evidence-based tools that meet each client where they are and support lasting change.

Life Outside the Office

Outside the therapy room, Mitch stays grounded through music, meditation, and yoga. He’s a competitor at heart and you’ll find him on the lacrosse field or basketball court.
His years as a personal trainer and strength coach reflect a longstanding belief in the power of discipline, the body-mind connection, and showing up fully for yourself.
UTAH FAMILY THERAPY'S UNFILTERED MISSION STATEMENT

Lets face it, who likes to talk about their crap with other people?

If you’re like most clients, you’re used to being judged despite hearing so many people talk about non judgment and when you do open up, it seems like the more you share, the less likely you are to get compassion.

We’ve worked our butts off to create a clinic where the unfiltered, real you, can show up and heal, so dammit give therapy a chance

We love the unfiltered real you, let’s heal together. – Utah Family Therapy Team
