How is Your Life’s Story Going to End?

When your life comes to end, what will be your story?

When it comes to mental health, I want you to ponder on some of the greatest words ever penned. The words come from Charles Dickens and the scene takes place when the character Ebenezer Scrooge was shown how his life would end up if he continued on the path he was heading. The ghost of Christmas Future was pointing at his tombstone and Scrooge says,

‘Before I draw nearer to that stone to which you point,’ said Scrooge, ‘answer me one question. Are these the shadows of the things that Will be, or are they shadows of things that May be, only?’

‘Men’s courses will foreshadow certain ends, to which, if persevered in, they must lead,’ said Scrooge.

‘But if the courses be departed from, the ends will change. Say it is thus with what you show me!’

Here’s what we want you to focus on, “…if the courses are departed from, the ends will change.”

The course you are on in life, is it the course you want to be on? If not, you can change your direction and be the person you want to be.

Remember, your addiction does not define you.

All too often, you may think there’s no hope for you, but this is the farthest thing from the truth. There is great hope and healing available. Mental health challenges are just a challenge, it is not who you are.
